Top 5 benefits of cannabis edibles

Whether you’re a long-time cannabis enthusiast or you’ve never tried cannabis in your life, you’ve probably heard of “pot brownies”. Introduced to America in the early 1970’s, pot brownies were pretty much the only game in town for decades. The only way to get them was to make them yourself or if you had a friend who “knew a guy”.

Happily, we’re living in an altogether different world. At Revolutionary Clinics, we offer dozens of different edibles in the form of fruit chews, chocolate bars, mints, spreads and even cannabis infused coffee. If you have a Massachusetts MMJ card, making your own cannabis edibles from legally purchased medical marijuana is also a great option and there are some cool tools to help you do it. Check out the video below to learn how to make your own cannabis butter or oil that you can use in any recipe you like!

If you’re thinking about giving edibles a try, here are our top five reasons why they’re a nice addition to your cannabis regimen.

Cannabis edibles are extremely easy to take
No joints to twist, no pipes to load, no vaporizers to control. Consuming  cannabis edibles is as easy as popping a fruit chew into your mouth or breaking off a section of candy bar. At Revolutionary Clinics, you’ll find all kinds of delicious flavors to choose from and none of them will irritate your throat, burn your lungs or make your eyes water.

Cannabis edibles are discreet
If you live in an apartment building, have teenage children or you just don’t want the neighbors in your suburban community detecting the unmistakable aroma of cannabis smoke, edibles are by far the most discreet way to consume medical marijuana. Just be sure to choose an equally discreet and safe place to store them so family members don’t think they can help themselves. This is especially important if you have small children, in which case, we recommend placing your edibles in a locked cabinet so there’s no chance of accidental ingestion by a candy-loving child.

The therapeutic effects of cannabis edibles are long-lasting
When you smoke, vape or dab cannabis, the THC (the psychoactive chemical in cannabis) is absorbed directly into your lungs. As a result,  the effects are almost instant but fade within a couple of hours. When THC is mixed into an edible, the therapeutic effects last anywhere from 8-12 hours. The reason for this is that it takes longer for your digestive system to break down the THC.  Once you start feeling the effects, you’ll continue to feel them as the THC is processed by the various organs in the digestive system until it reaches the liver where it still takes time to be fully broken down.  Exactly how long you will personally feel the effects of a cannabis edible depends on the size of the dose you take and your body’s metabolism. Like ALL cannabis products, our Patient Advocates always advise first time edible consumers to start low and go slow until you find the right dose for your goals.

Cannabis edibles provide precise and consistent dosing that’s easy to control
With cannabis flower or concentrates, ingesting a consistent dose can be challenging since every crop or batch tests at different THC levels. When you consume a packaged edible made by a high-quality manufacturer, you know exactly what you’re getting. Controlling the amount of THC you ingest is as easy as breaking the edible into pieces and taking them individually – that means no joints to stub out and save for later.

Cannabis edibles are delicious
With so many tasty and effective products to choose from on our website and the unlimited dishes you can make in your own kitchen, “taking your medicine” has never been more enjoyable. We have medicated peanut butter and hazelnut spread, three different flavors of mints with different effects and all kinds of tasty chocolate bars and fruit chews that make consuming cannabis a true pleasure.

For all five reasons above, thousands of Rev patients use cannabis edibles to supplement their other consumption methods and many consume edibles exclusively. 1. I think it was actually a great idea to make products with cannabis added. That is, you can undergo treatment and no one will know about it. It seems to me that when you eat products with cannabis, you feel the taste and at the same time benefit your body. It’s just a combo. Well, this is just perfect for those who love to eat, like me. I don’t see it as medicine, but rather as a healthy fruit or vegetable. Therefore, it is much easier for me to accept this fact.
